Solar in Nevada
For many Nevada homeowners, yes. Southern Nevada has long, sunny summers and heavy air-conditioning use, and NV Energy credits the solar you use at home at the full retail rate. NV Energy's newer rules, including 15-minute netting in northern Nevada and a daily demand charge scheduled for southern Nevada in 2027, reward homes that use their own solar, which is why more Nevada systems now include a battery.
Net metering
NV Energy serves nearly all of Nevada, through Nevada Power in the south and Sierra Pacific Power in the north. Here's how its solar rules work in 2026.
Solar you send to the grid beyond what your home uses that month is credited at 75% of the retail rate under Nevada's 2017 net metering law (AB 405). That rate stays with the system at your address for 20 years.
For homes that install solar after October 1, 2025 in Sierra Pacific Power's territory, solar is netted against usage every 15 minutes instead of over the whole month, so solar you use as it's produced is worth the most.
NV Energy's daily demand charge for southern Nevada homes is scheduled to start January 1, 2027. It's based on your highest 15-minute usage each day, and the charge is still being challenged in court. A battery can help keep those peaks down.
Based on Public Utilities Commission of Nevada decisions as of October 2026. The demand charge is still being challenged in court, so we confirm how the rules apply to your home in your quote.
Incentives
In Nevada, most of the value of solar comes from your NV Energy bill, not from tax credits.
Tax treatment varies. Consult a tax professional.
Nevada doesn't have a state income tax, so there's no state solar tax credit. Your savings come from lower monthly bills.
NV Energy has offered home battery rebates through its Energy Storage Incentives program. Funding opens and closes, so we check what's available when we design your system.
Homeowners who buy a system no longer get a federal credit. With a lease, PPA or prepaid plan, the system owner can still claim the 30% credit and pass that value to you as a lower price. See how it works below.
Lease, PPA and prepaid plans
Nevada has no state solar tax credit, which makes the federal credit worth paying attention to. When a financing partner owns the system on your roof, it can still claim the 30% federal solar credit under Section 48E, and that value can come back to you as a lower monthly payment or a lower prepaid price.
The system owner claims the 30% credit and can pass the savings to you as a lower rate or a lower prepaid price. You don't claim anything on your own return.
Because you aren't the one claiming the credit, it works even if you owe little or no federal income tax.
Choose a monthly lease or PPA with no upfront cost, or a prepaid plan that covers the system with a single payment.
Monitoring and system service are included for the life of the agreement, so repairs aren't on you.
Battery storage has its own federal credit with no 2027 cutoff, so a lease or prepaid plan can lower the cost of a Powerwall or FranklinWH battery.
Southern Nevada homes face a daily demand charge scheduled for 2027. A plan that pairs solar with a battery can keep those daily peaks down.
New solar must be in service by December 31, 2027 for the system owner to claim the federal credit; batteries have no 2027 cutoff. Terms vary by financing partner and address. Tax treatment varies. Consult a tax professional.
Battery storage
NV Energy's newest rules reward homes that use their own solar and keep usage peaks low. A battery does both.
In southern Nevada, a battery can cover your highest-usage moments, which will matter once the daily demand charge starts in 2027.
Store midday solar for the evening instead of exporting it at 75% credit.
Keep the fridge, lights and AC essentials running during outages.
How it works
We review your NV Energy bills, roof and goals, then design a system sized to how your home actually uses power.
We handle permits with your city or county, HOA paperwork and your NV Energy interconnection application.
We install your system and manage every step through final inspection.
After inspection, NV Energy approves your system to operate and we help you set up monitoring.
Service area
We install home solar and batteries across the Las Vegas Valley.

Answers on NV Energy net metering, demand charges, batteries, and rebates.
For many homeowners, yes. Nevada's sunny climate and high summer cooling bills make solar a good fit, and NV Energy credits the solar you use at the full retail rate. Because newer rules reward using your own solar, the best value comes from a system sized to your home, often with a battery.
Your home uses your solar first. Each month, solar that offsets your usage is credited at the full retail rate, and any extra you export beyond that is credited at 75% of the retail rate. That 75% rate stays with the system at your address for 20 years. In northern Nevada, homes that installed solar after October 1, 2025 are netted every 15 minutes instead of over the whole month.
Not one you claim yourself. Nevada has no state income tax, so there's no state solar tax credit, and the homeowner credit for buying a system ended December 31, 2025. With a lease, PPA or prepaid plan, though, the system owner can claim the 30% federal credit and pass that value to you as a lower price. Tax treatment varies. Consult a tax professional.
It's a new charge for southern Nevada homes, scheduled to start January 1, 2027, based on your highest 15-minute usage each day. The charge is still being challenged in court, so we confirm where it stands in your quote. Spreading out big loads and using a battery during peaks can help keep it down.
You don't need one, but a battery helps more in Nevada now than it used to. It stores solar you'd otherwise export at 75% credit, can cover your daily usage peaks once southern Nevada's demand charge starts, and keeps essentials running during outages.
NV Energy has offered rebates for home batteries through its Energy Storage Incentives program, with higher amounts for customers on a time-of-use rate. Funding opens and closes, so we confirm what's available when we design your system.
Icon Power manages your project from design and permitting through installation, inspection and service, so one company is accountable for every Nevada system we sell.
