Solar in Goodyear
For most Goodyear homeowners, yes. Long, hot summers keep the AC running for months, and Arizona still offers a state tax credit plus property and sales tax exemptions. Goodyear homes are on APS, which locks in your export rate for 10 years when you apply, and the city accepts SolarAPP+ for faster permits on eligible systems.
APS export rate approved by the Arizona Corporation Commission for applications from September 2026 to August 2027. Tax treatment varies. Consult a tax professional.
Your utility
Goodyear homes are served by APS. Here's how its solar program works for new customers in 2026.
APS credits exported solar at a rate the Arizona Corporation Commission approves each year, about 5.55 cents per kWh for applications from September 2026 to August 2027. The rate in place when you apply is locked for 10 years.
Solar you use as it's produced offsets power at your full APS rate, so it's worth more than solar you export. Storing it in a battery for the evening peak stretches that value further.
APS has several residential price plans, and the right system depends on which one you're on. We confirm your current plan, and the export rate that would apply, before we design anything.
Export rates as published in October 2026. Rates change, so we confirm the current rate for your home in your quote.
Incentives
Goodyear homeowners get Arizona's state solar incentives. Here's what's still available in 2026.
Tax treatment varies. Consult a tax professional.
Claim 25% of the cost of a solar energy device on your home, up to $1,000, with Arizona Form 310. Unused credit can carry forward for up to five years.
Under A.R.S. §42-11054, solar on your home adds no value for property tax purposes in Maricopa County.
Qualifying solar equipment and installation are exempt from Arizona's transaction privilege tax (A.R.S. §42-5061 and §42-5075).
The federal residential solar credit (Section 25D) ended for homeowner-purchased systems on December 31, 2025. If you'd rather not pay upfront, ask about our no-upfront-cost monthly battery program.
Battery storage
On APS, the solar you store and use in the evening is worth more than the solar you export, and a battery keeps essentials running when monsoon storms knock out power.
Run your home on stored solar during evening hours, when time-of-use rates are highest.
Keep essentials running during summer monsoon outages.
If your home is on SRP, the SRP Battery Partner program pays $55 per average kW in bill credits each summer and winter season for letting SRP draw on your battery during peak events.
How it works
We review your APS bills, roof and goals, then design a system sized to how your home actually uses power.
We handle permits with the City of Goodyear, using SolarAPP+ where your system qualifies, plus HOA paperwork and your APS interconnection application.
One accountable team installs your system and supports it after turn-on.
After the inspection, your utility grants permission to operate (PTO), and we help you set up monitoring.
Service area
We install home solar and batteries in neighborhoods throughout Goodyear, from north of I-10 to the Estrella foothills.

Answers on APS, permits, batteries, incentives and property taxes in Goodyear.
For most homeowners, yes. Goodyear's long cooling season makes solar a strong fit, and Arizona still offers a 25% state tax credit up to $1,000 plus property and sales tax exemptions. The best value comes from a system sized to your own use, often with a battery.
Goodyear accepts SolarAPP+, an automated permitting platform that can approve eligible residential solar systems much faster than standard plan review. Systems that don't qualify go through the city's regular review. We file whichever route applies.
It's not required, but it often pays off. APS credits exported solar well below what you pay for power, so storing midday solar for the evening is worth more. A battery also keeps essentials running during monsoon outages.
Not for a system you buy. The federal residential solar credit (Section 25D) ended for homeowner-purchased systems on December 31, 2025. If your system was installed and operating by then, you claim it for the tax year it was placed in service. Arizona's 25% state credit, up to $1,000, still applies. Tax treatment varies. Consult a tax professional.
Arizona offers a state income tax credit of 25% of the cost of a residential solar energy device, up to $1,000, claimed on Arizona Form 310. Solar on your home is also exempt from property tax assessments, and qualifying equipment and installation are exempt from state sales tax. Tax treatment varies. Consult a tax professional.
No. Arizona law exempts residential solar from property tax assessments in Maricopa County.
No. Arizona law (A.R.S. §33-1816) bars HOAs from prohibiting rooftop solar. They can set reasonable placement rules, as long as those rules don't block the installation or significantly hurt performance. We prepare the HOA submittal for you.
