Quick answer
To turn on a FranklinWH aPower 2 system, go in this order: solar breaker, all disconnects, the combiner panel (only with multiple batteries), the aGate's red power switch and breakers, your solar inverter, then the power button on each battery. Finish by setting up the FranklinWH app with the email Icon Power has on file.
Follow these steps in order. Skipping around can keep your system from starting correctly.
Open your main electrical panel and find the breaker labeled PV, Photovoltaic, or Solar. Flip it to ON. This lets power flow to your solar and battery system.
Find the disconnect boxes near your main panel or battery system. They're gray boxes with a handle on the front, and most homes have one to three. Flip each handle up to ON.
Only do this step if you have more than one battery. Find the small panel near your batteries, open it, and turn every breaker ON. If you have one battery, skip to Step 4.
The aGate is the system controller, the brain of your system.
This depends on your inverter type:
Find the round power button on the side of the battery and press it. If you have more than one battery, repeat this for each one.
Once connected, you can monitor energy production and use, track battery performance, and see system status in real time.
A fast-blinking LED means the battery has an error. Turn the battery off, wait 1 to 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
