How to Turn On Your FranklinWH aPower 2 System #
Your solar and battery system is ready. Let’s get everything powered on.
This guide walks you through each step to safely turn on your FranklinWH aPower 2 system and start monitoring your energy.

What You’ll Do #
You’ll go through a simple startup sequence:
Turn on your solar breaker
Turn on all disconnects
Power on your system controller (aGate)
Turn on your inverter
Turn on your battery
Set up monitoring
Follow the steps in order. Skipping around can prevent your system from starting correctly.
Step 1: Turn On Your Solar Breaker #
Open your main electrical panel and locate the breaker labeled:
Flip this breaker to the On position.
This allows power to flow to your solar and battery system.
Step 2: Turn On All Disconnects #
Locate the disconnect boxes near your main panel or battery system.
Flip each handle up to the On position.
Step 3: Turn On Combiner Panel (If You Have Multiple Batteries) #
Only complete this step if you have more than one battery.
If you only have one battery, skip this step.
Step 4: Power On the aGate (System Controller) #
The aGate is the brain of your system.
Locate the large white box (usually in your garage or near your panel)
Open the door by pulling firmly from the right side
Turn the red power switch ON
Make sure all breakers inside are also ON
Step 5: Turn On Your Solar Inverter #
This step depends on your inverter type:
SolarEdge Inverter
Enphase System
Open the combiner box
Turn all breakers On
Step 6: Turn On Your Battery #
On each battery:
If you have multiple batteries, repeat for each one.
Step 7: Set Up the FranklinWH App #
Download the FranklinWH app to monitor your system.
To get started:
Download the app from the App Store or Google Play
Look for your registration email from Icon Power
Create your account using the same email on file
Once connected, you can:
Monitor energy production and usage
Track battery performance
View system status in real time
What to Expect #
After startup:
Your system may take a few minutes to fully initialize
Battery indicators (LED strip) will show system status
Production will depend on sunlight and time of day
Troubleshooting #
No power or system not working
Battery shows an error (fast blinking LED)
Turn the battery off
Wait 1–2 minutes
Turn it back on
App not connecting
