How to Power On Your Solar System (SolarEdge Inverter)


Welcome! This step-by-step guide will help you safely turn on your solar energy system equipped with SolarEdge inverters.

Step 1: Turn On the PV Breaker in Your Main Service Panel #

  • Locate your main service panel (also known as the breaker panel).
  • Find the breaker labeled PV Source Breakers or Solar Backfeed.
  • Flip this breaker to the ON position.

Step 2: Flip On the Safety Disconnect Switch #

  • Find the safety disconnect switch located near your main panel or inverter.
  • This will be a simple ON/OFF lever.
  • Flip the switch to the ON position.
  • A light will turn on to confirm power is flowing.

Step 3: (Optional) Turn On the Load Center Breakers #

Only complete this step if your system has two inverters.

  • Follow the metal conduit to your inverters.
  • If you see a load center (small breaker box), open it.
  • Flip both breakers ON — each one connects to a separate inverter.
  • Note: If you only have one inverter, skip this step.

Step 4: Power On the Inverter(s) #

  • Flip the power switch on each SolarEdge inverter to the ON position.
  • Verify that the red DIP switch on each inverter is positioned straight up and down.

Step 5: Wait for the System to Start #

  • Wait approximately 5 minutes after turning on all switches.
  • Your SolarEdge system should begin producing power automatically.
